How We Write and Review Our Guides
Families use our guides to make big decisions about care and money. Here’s how we keep them accurate, clear, and current.
Where our facts come from
Every rule about benefits comes from an official source:
- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA.gov)
- NC Medicaid and the NC Department of Health and Human Services (medicaid.ncdhhs.gov, ncdhhs.gov)
- Medicare (Medicare.gov)
- The NC Department of Insurance (ncdoi.gov)
We link the source right next to the rule it supports, so you can check it yourself. Our long-term care insurance guides use each insurance company’s own claim materials.
Plain language
We write in short sentences and everyday words, aiming for an 8th-grade reading level. Every guide opens with a short answer to the question in its title, so you get the answer first and the details after.
Dates on every guide
Each guide shows the month it was last updated. Dollar amounts and limits that change every year say which year they apply to. We change the date only when we actually change the content.
Who reviews our guides
Carolina Home Health Care has served Charlotte families since 2004. Our guides are reviewed by Parag Satsangi, Director of Business Development, who checks each rule and dollar figure against its official source before a guide is published, whenever a program changes, and at least once a year.
Found a mistake?
If something looks wrong or out of date, tell us through our contact page. We’ll check it against the official source, fix it, and update the date.
What our guides are not
Our guides are general information, not medical, legal, or financial advice. For your own eligibility, contact the VA, your Medicaid case manager or county Department of Social Services, your insurance company, or call us.
Carolina Home Health Care does not file or prepare VA benefit claims. For help with a claim, contact an accredited Veterans Service Officer; that help is free.
